This year PA Circle K does not have a Governor’s Project. Instead, we are going to focus on working with the CKI Service Partners. There are four service partners. They are March of Dimes, UNICEF, Better World Books, and Students Team Up to Fight Hunger.

Better World Books: An organization that capitalizes on the value of the book to fund and support literacy initiatives locally, nationally, and around the world. capitalizes on the value of the book to fund and support literacy initiatives locally, nationally, and around the world. CKI Members can help out by holding a book drive for Better World Books’ “Book Drives for Better Lives” program . A document describing Better World Books can be downloaded on the from the “Useful Information” box on the side of this page.

Caitlin’s Smiles: An organization that provides “Bags of Smiles” to sick children in the hospital. Last year Caitlin’s Smiles was our Governor’s Project, but at the end of the year we made it an official CKI Service Partner. So, just like last year when clubs would put bags together and donate them or collect money and send it in as a donation CKI will be doing it again this year. This year, though, it will be more of a continuation from last year and does not have to be a clubs whole focus. There will be a couple of months in which we will focus on this service partner more than others, but that does not mean that you cannot work on it all year. Examples of craft kits and Bags of Smiles can be found here.

March of Dimes: An organization that works to fight premature births. Typically CKI members help by participating in a March for Babies walk. A link to the March of Dimes website can be found on the side of this page.

Students Team up to Fight Hunger: An organization that links up with food banks with local colleges and universities for two purposes: to collect food for those who need it most and to raise awareness of these needs upon the local student population. CKI members can help by setting up STUFH bins on campus, spreading the word about hunger, or starting a STUFH chapter on your campus. Links to more information can be found on the side of this page.

UNICEF: An agency that provides emergency aid to children in Europe and Asia. CKI members help by going Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF and raising money for the Six Cents Initiative. Links to the UNICEF site and the Six Cents Initiative page can be found on the side of this page.
