Our annual District Service Project poll is back! There are four projects to choose from, which are detailed below. The poll is on the right hand side of the home page and will be open until February 25 at 11:59 P.M. Happy voting!

CLAW (Circle K Loves Animal Wellbeing)

Are you an animal lover?  If the answer is yes, then here is your chance to help the animals you love the most on a larger scale.  These animals need food, water, shelter, etc so let’s give them the care that they need.  Some of these animals end up in animal shelters because they no longer have a home due to being abandoned or abused.  In this project, Circle K will be working with animals to help provide them with some essentials that are needed to live.

What can you do to help?

  • volunteer at an animal shelter or zoo (depending on location)
  • make dog toys during meetings
  • make and donate birdhouses, doghouses, etc
  • “adopt” a shelter and/or zoo animal as a club
  • host a drive for necessary items for a local shelter

Serving Those Who Serve

We all know someone who is in the military, whether they are presently serving or had served at one time.  In this project, Circle K will be working with soldiers, veterans, and past/present army members.  These individuals have provided a lot for us through their service so let’s show some appreciation and give them some support-by serving those who serve, we can help those who need it.

What can you do to help?

  • make care packages/letters for soldiers
  • participate in service projects sponsored by the armed forces/USO
  • make angel bags for injured service members
  • volunteer at a veteran’s hospital
  • participate as a club in the “Adopt a Platoon”

Project POW: Promoting Overall Wellness

Health and wellness is a topic that can have an effect on everyone directly.  Promoting health and wellness is a good way to express how important they are to living a better life in terms of health.  In this project, Circle K is promoting all aspects of wellbeing, such as physical fitness and wholesome eating habits as well as working to combat the many issues facing global health today.

What can you do to help?

  • host/participate in a blood drive or similar drives
  • fundraise to combat global health issues such as cancer, diabetes, etc. via walks and other means
  • promote healthy eating habits through education programs or hosting healthy dinners at your university
  • host a sporting event or tournament at your university or as an after-school program at a local school
  • volunteer at a local health clinic

The Circle K Renaissance

Through the years, we have all experienced art which has helped to develop who we are today.  While we have all had the opportunity to explore the arts relating to our personal culture, perform in the arts, pursuing a career in the arts etc, there are others who have not had the opportunity to do so.  This project involves art and cultural education and development oriented projects.

What can you do to help?

  • volunteer at cultural festivals and the like
  • promote art & cultural education at your university or through after school programs
  • make song books and other materials during meetings to donate to school art programs
  • volunteer at your local museum/gallery and/or participate in a mural arts program
