HEY PACK! The District Board has some vacant positions that NEED to be filled!

The following positions are up for grabs (click to view application):
District Editor
Lieutenant Governor of Three Rivers, Snowbelt, Colonial, Liberty and Black Diamond
Committee Chairs for Conferences/Conventions and Membership Retention/Club Building

DISTRICT BOARD VACANCIES
These are the following vacancies in the District Board:
District Editor: The Editor creates the District Publication, the Krier, as well as
works with the PACK website. The Editor also works with the club editors by
collecting their Monthly Report Forms, as well as assisting the editors in any
problems that they may face.
Lieutenant Governors of Snowbelt, Three Rivers, Colonial, Black Diamond,
and Liberty: The LTGs work with their respective division by acting as the
liaison between the club and district level. An LTG helps the club officers
with any issues that they face and provides them with important District
and International information. LTGs are also part of committees of the
District Board and help to plan the major events of PA Circle K.
Conferences and Conventions Chair: This chair would be the head of
planning events such as InterPACK and District Convention (though
he/she is not alone!) as well as providing information to PACK about
International Convention.
Membership Retention and Club Building Chair: This chair helps struggling
clubs by providing creative ways to keep or build their membership in the
clubs. This chair also helps with building new clubs as well as reconnecting
with clubs that no longer contact the district.
Information/Technology Chair: This chair will spend a lot of time revamping
the PA Circle K Website. They will also focus on helping the clubs
use technology to the best of their ability.

To apply for a District position, you must:
-Turn in the application for your respective position

-Fill out the Candidate Bio Form and turn it in

-Provide an essay stating why you feel you should be <insert position here>.

Katie has also attached a list of the events for the year, just so you can be
aware of the time commitment for the year (though the list is VERY
daunting, it’s not that bad- We promise!). But you would be required to
attend the events starting with District Officer Trainer Plus, which will be
May 31st-June 2nd in Reading, PA. If you are chosen for the position for
which you apply, you must be able to attend this event (though if you feel
this will be an issue, please email me as soon as possible).

Leadership Academy is an 6-day event for CKI members who want to prepare their leadership skills for any future endeavors, not just CKI positions. It will be taking place July 30-August 4 at the Waycross Camp & Conference Center. The cost for this event is only $145, with lodging, meals, and materials all covered by CKI and the Kiwanis International Foundation. Do not miss this opportunity!! Many members who have attended have described it as the best experience of their lives! For more information about the event, travel arrangements, past attendees, and how to apply, follow this link: http://www.circlek.org/Leadership/LeadershipAcademy.aspx

LSSP & ICON IN VANCOUVER, CANADA

As you all may already know, this summer’s International Convention and Large Scale Service Project will be taking place in the beautiful city of Vancouver the week of June 23-30, 2013. The first half of the week (June 23-26) will be LSSP while the second (June 26-30) will be ICON. I HIGHLY encourage you and your fellow Circle K members to attend! Here are just a few out of hundreds of reasons why:

  • It will be outside of the United States, which does not typically happen
  • It is in the western part of Canada, an area that would not be the typical choice for Pennsylvania natives.
  • Compared to any other trip you may take to Canada, this event is extremely cheap. Take advantage of it!!
  • This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be shared with hundreds of Circle K International members from all over the world
  • Seriously….ALL OVER THE WORLD. And we all have something extraordinary in common…PASSION FOR SERVICE
  • The friends you will meet have the potential to last a lifetime. Not kidding
  • THREE FULL DAYS of service and fellowship!!!
  • FOUR DAYS of more fellowship and leadership development through workshops, networking, and letting your voice be heard at the House of Delegates (same as ours, but multiplied by about a million)
  • Gain a deeper understanding of Circle K International as a whole
  • HAVE A BLAST!!!

All of the Information Can be Found Here: http://www.circlek.org/Leadership/Conventions/InternationalConvention.aspx
